JANUARY / FEBRUARY 2005:
(Please scroll down to newest stuff -
Yeah, I know it's backwards!!)

Welcome to my new web site...I hope this one doesn't magically disappear like the last "Geocities" site.
There is also another "site" which Stan Merrell (of The Badenovs) saved from Geocities...I will attach that to The Links page because it has additional info. I finally got a review for "The Del Rivers Story..." in the January 5, 2005 issue of Freetime. Bop Shop & Record Archive has the CD's available, as well as Rocket Racket via mail order.

I don't know if much will get played off of The Del Rivers Story - since Mike Murray at Whole Lotta Shakin'  thinks my vocals are a bit flat (I know, but I can't help it!) - but there are a few instrumentals featuring Dan Frank [of The Franks / Riviera Playboys / Projectiles] that will fit Shakin's format). The vinyl Projectiles album -(Hanging Out) - of 1980's stuff is worth getting, as I recorded with them about the same time period. A Projectiles reunion will occur on January 22nd with The Lyres. (Unfortunately missed due to worst ever cold winter day).

The link to my older site has a few Del Rivers song samples. Rochester Sessions & other DJ's at WITR are considering other tracks to play. I will be filling in at Whole Lotta Shakin' on  February 6th. I might be working again soon with comedian / drummer Richard Gagnier on some newer music tracks this year.

I've been busy helping to produce "comedy videos" for "Frontal Lobe & Dumplings" cable show, as well as transferring old VHS tapes to DVD of my past appearances on video. Does anyone have me on stage doing comedy or music stuff - please let me know! Hopefully, I will be transferring the lost "Boss Beat TV Show" as well as a hosted concert with "Stone Garden" as soon as tapes are located. Jim Havalack [of Quality Transportation / ex-Chesterfield Kings manager] is checking for old Beta tapes, too.
Some really old tapes of Scorgies appearances are being discovered by Stan Merrell's friend & videographer Russ.

No live appearances for the "New Electric Cowboys" or whatever music thing I'll be doing next. I am planning some ideas, though - either live or in studio soon. I will be making a stand-up comedy appearance in Brockport at Java Junction on January 28th with Richard & others (see below). Occasionally, I will be doing stand-up on Wednesday evenings at Daily Perks. I may collaborate with Jim Via of Krypton 88 and/or Gary Smith [the Happy Pirate] on two unrelated projects - of course, music & comedy.

I am also going to edit a trade book by comic book writer "Ed McCray" this year (Jan & Feb). See his attached web site.

Thanks to Chuck McCoy for getting this new page started & Stan Merrell & Chaz Lockwood for saving my older web site stuff!

Rumor has it that the Projectiles may reunite again for another show in Spring; due to poor weather attendance at the last show. The Chinchillas have a new CD out entitled "Podunk". I previously wrote the Johnny Cash-sounding "I Must Pretend" with leader Pete Anvelt; as well as recorded a "bootleg" session with him in "The Folk Explosion" years later. (Jon Pirincci used to manage his first group "The Presstones" back in the 1980's).

Steve Graves Comedy Benefit at Java Junction was a fun time & raised some good ka-ching.

See ya soon & have Happy New Year - Del

FEBRUARY / MARCH 2005:

Started work on the CD "Scapegoat Hawkins Lee" - which is actually a semi-fictional work with Chris Yambar. Dave Anderson from Saxon mastered the original tracks, but I will be adding some additional material with Chuck McCoy's cool edit functions. It's an example of music meeting comedy.

Speaking of comedy, I may take a break from stand up, or change my approach once again to feel more comfortable on stage. I need to get my personal matters (such as my weight gain & money problems) under better control. I spend more time & energy trying to fix the leaks in my life. It's a wonder if I get anything accomplished - but I'm trying.

Congrats to Rich Gagnier who put out Volume 3 of his comedy CD-EP's. Volume 1 & 2 are in the works.

Just saw The Lost Marbles with Darren - he sounds refreshed & new again - as his band is half his age!
Looking forward to helping them, if I can with a couple demos w/ Darren eventually.

I will be adding more pictures & info as time permits.

Working on some ideas for a CD which will be half cover songs & half co-written originals...tentative title "Songs of Joy...And Bitter Loneliness"! This will be a 2-3 year project, as I have my hands in a lot of pies right now. Still creating song ideas.

Word has it that Chris Yambar likes the Scapegoat comedy CD & will follow up with cool liner notes and other surprises.

Sadly, I missed Shonen Knife's appearance, but myself or Mike Murray might have contact soon with Sky Saxon of The Seeds. The Lost Marbles have been covering his "Pushin' Too Hard" hit.

Helped out Kenyatta DaCosta as well as Lamar Williams with their promo CD covers.

Might be working on more ideas for the "Chuck McCoy" show in the near future with Richard Gagnier producing.

APRIL / MAY 2005

April 8th - Hosting a Daily Perks Comedy show with Richard Gagnier & Paris & Sasko & Bill Franklin. Bill will be doing a tribute to "Dave Allan".

George from The Wave Station is helping me pick out new song covers. I may write new originals with Ed "Hank Blast" Karuth and/or Jim Via.

I'll be filling in at Whole Lotta Shakin' when Mike Murray & his wife Linda have their second child.

Old friend & "Bewitched" author Herbie J Pilato is set to appear in "Chasing Farrah" - a reality cable tv show based on Farrah Fawcett. He'll be the "#1 Fan", sort of 'acting' on the show. I worked with him & videographer Tom O'Brien on his local show ideas.

The April 8th comedy show went great & nearly sold out with standing-room only.

My brother, Bill Bulmahn, will be visiting Rochester at the end of April to May. Dave Maneti is also in town for a visit. Ken Peters will be getting married on May 29th - Congrats!

The other "James Bulmahn" (also my real name, of course) was in the paper the other day as he was interviewed about "Star Wars III". He is about 32 & works at Kodak. I think that he also played drums for a while. A distant cousin that I met a few times.

Finally found a couple old Beta tapes from Jim Havalack while he was moving. They include performances by The Swing Set, Reactions, and Rick Baker that I filmed back in the 1980's. I hope to find a way to transfer them soon to DVD.

JUNE / JULY 2005

Plans are in the works for producing 3-4 songs with singer Dave Maneti, who recently moved back up to Rochester, NY from Florida. It will be done at "The Wave Station" soon. A little bit of pop & some Christian-rock with a Lou Gramm influence (we hope!). My own projects are on hold for now until I finish moving out of Harper Park to an apartment.

Brian Lindsay (Bootleggers) just sent a copy of my review to several (180!) triple-A radio stations to help propel airplay on his CD "The Crossing". He will be a guest on both Whole Lotta Shakin' (24th) and with Frank DeBlase on The Buzz' Sunday Night Shakedown. I recently sent Frank a copy of "Mojo Mix" which has my best co-written songs.

AUGUST / SEPTEMBER 2005

On August 12th, the Fertility Rite Brothers got together with Blue Spark & Flame and The UV Rays to raise money for Haiti Relief & the St. Joseph Neighborhood House. The event was a success! I played maraccas and met some nice people there. Paul from The Isotopes showed up - he may do some creative work with writer Ed McCray for his CD project; if there is compatibility of ideas.

For fun, I've been trying Karaoke with Walt O'Brien (at Flipside on Mondays) with Dave Maneti & Andy Boccacino. Also, a little golf practice with Chuck McCoy and Rich Gagnier. Fun summer!

Buddy & artist Chris Yambar appeared on WCMF's Brother Wease show to promote a signing at Mike Churchill's Lost Worlds store.

I just sent Mike Murray & Frank DeBlase copies of the new Rick Baker CD - "Sober" and a hits CD by Gary Sanders. Each of their shows will play cuts, as well as The Mods CD that I sent previously.

Just seen the last Summer show of "It's My Party" at Cruise Night in Fairport - hope to get them booked in the "Downstairs Cabaret". (They met Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys, as did my world travelling friend Ran Collins!).

Sept. 11th featured a comedy show with Andy Bocaccino's XEI Entertainment. A low turn-out, but there will be many more to come.

Last full night of "stand-up" open-mic comedy was on Sept. 28th at Daily Perks. Professional shows will continue, as a temporary 6-7:30pm open mic at Daily Perks. Music, Poetry, & Jazz open mic will take it's place. Future locations for my stand-up with others will be announced. Andy B's XEI Entertainment is looking for options, too!

Chuck McCoy & myself may soon pitch an unnamed Game Show to Gary Smith (The Happy Pirate) next month for cable television.

Other shows will be mentioned soon. I will be filling in on Whole Lotta Shakin' on October 9th.

OCTOBER / NOVEMBER / DECEMBER 2005

I was on Whole Lotta Shakin' on the 9th - great show & some calls; but I got a little emotional when I played "Blues For Yesterday" by Louis Armstrong for my New Orleans tribute set. I will be guesting again on the upcoming Halloween show with Mike Murray.

I've been doing a few fun things with Andy Boccacino's video camera as "Desperado Del" which he may use for his comedy routine. Daily Perks comedy is winding down; as other venues might be featuring yours truly.

No music news yet - but I still plan to work with Dave Maneti and Rich Gagnier (& his friend Mike).

Still performing at Perks & Flat Iron for small crowd. Might gather up material for comedy collection CD.

I may give out a limited Comedy Songs CD as a Christmas gift this year.

Good Luck to drummer Judd Williams (Swing Set / BBB's / Riviera Playboys) who underwent heart surgury.

Been busy with our company's trade show. This was successful. Happy Thanksgiving!

The XEI comedy show at Arena 51 gaming place was the first of its kind...I tried some stand-up, a wrestling character, and other fun stuff. Great show, but they need a better P-A system for next time. Catered with Tandoor Indian food!

I will be a guest with Mike Murray on the WITR Christmas show...probably Dec. 11th and/or the 18th.

Visited the great Judd Williams (w/Jim Havalack) in Watertown, who is doing great after heart surgery. He appreciated the CD's we made (with Ran Collins) at WRAN studios.

I recently wrote to California friend / actor "Ggreg Snyder" who appeared in "Trekkies 2". We both worked at the open-mike at The Starry Plough in Berkeley, CA. Speaking of open mikes, both Flat Iron and Daily Perks are done for now, but I will be on videotape with XEI Entertainment, as well as audio taping of comedy (with Chuck McCoy) for now. A bunch of us are looking for a new place to perform. Christian comedian Bob Wright might consider working with us, as well.

Some of my characters are "True Powell - Bit Parts Actor", "The Jelly Lovin' Twister Guy", "Myron Kornwaffle - Politician", and "Man with Face Pushed-In"! I recently videotaped myself singing a new version of "My Little V-6" as Del Rivers, of course!

JANUARY / FEBRUARY 2006

I've just started performing live comedy again at Comix Cafe on Tuesday Nights - 8:30pm. A tougher crowd and a longer wait between acts, but so far I am enjoying it. I met up with comedian friend Dan Viola who hasn't aged since I last saw him about 15 years ago or more. I recognized a lot of guys & girls from my occasional appearances in the 1990's when I put comedy on the back-burner. (Now it seems that my music stuff is on hold, but I'm still working on the comedy CD with Chuck McCoy).

My cheesy videos with Andy Boccacino & XEI Entertainment are actually improving. We might get better equipment & editing soon. Possibly usable footage available for local cable stations, I hope.

A great comedy show (for practice) was on February 10th with Rich Gagnier. A paid show will be in April.

Hopefully, I will be helping Dave Maneti produce his next session at The Wave Station in March. The group Static Cling is taking original song submissions for $100 each. I might send them something by next month, too.

Incidentally, I ran into Alise G. of Black Eyed Rosey at our company dinner - a great rock singer like Janis Joplin or Linda Perry. I will also be meeting Alan Isaacson (aka Danny Clay - comedian) who I haven't seen in over a decade ago.

MARCH / APRIL 2006

Comedy / Poker show - March 11th - Saturday at Brighton Recreation on Idlewood. With Andy B. and other comedians. Very small event.

Finally recorded some demo tracks with Dave Maneti at The Wave Station. The session included my favorite "Jobe" based on the Bible (like "Turn, Turn, Turn" by The Byrds). Dave will be moving back to Florida in April. This will be my main music production this year. Work is almost done on the comedy CD collaboration with Chuck McCoy. Still writing song demos with Jason Poole. I might consider doing something with the old, live tracks from The Quatlloos (live at the 1990's Bleier Fest) that were given to me for digital transfer by Darren Brennessel - perhaps a limited CD release (due to needed permissions from so many people).

You might catch me on occasion at Comix Cafe every other Tuesday night; until production resumes on the cable show "Frontal Lobe & Dumplings".

Had a good show on April 7th with Rich Gagnier - I wrapped myself up as a "foil mummy"!

We almost have a half-hour show in the can for John Bino & Amy Gdala's "Frontal Lobe & Dumplings" show - which will be broadcast on Webster Cable. Three more shows need to be made first.

Bill Franklin's charity show at Harmony House is on April 29th.

MAY / JUNE 2006

Rochester Comedy Hall Of Fame induction - by XEI Entertainment on June 2nd at Buckland Park - Westfall Road! Good turnout!

Currently working at Webster Cable for "Frontal Lobe & Dumplings" show - in progress. No airdates yet.

Might have some new songs in the works; aside from the instrumental "Y-Files" theme as a parody of "X-Files"!

Joe Hendrick & The Mudflaps came out with their new CD. No "Del" songs; but I did write a couple tunes that were considered for their recording.
Also check out band "28-IF" with Ray Paul & Bob Janneck.

Might be getting raw tunes on CD from Dave Maneti, as well as The Quatloos - from George H. at The Wave Station.

JULY/AUGUST 2006

Performed live in Buffalo at Nietzches for the first time in years. I haven't done any comedy in Buffalo or Canada since I worked with Alan Isaacson (aka - Danny Clay) in the 1980's. The response was good!

The "Group Of Six" comedians filmed a video movie which was done with distant cousin James "Jamie" Bulmahn. May take a couple months to edit. Hopefully, we can get it on You Tube dot com or some other shared video place. My first "official" acting job in the comedy-drama vein!

SEPTEMBER / OCTOBER 2006

I've been getting lazy with my blogs; but anyone who is interested can find me under MySpace instead. Just request the address or ask me anything with the e-mail below (my "secret identity", Batman!).

McFadden's Parachute songs are featured in the new independant film "Getting Personal".

Hopefully, I will be doing more stand up comedy at Boulder Coffee, as soon as repairs are done there. They might try an open mike on the outdoor deck.

I feel bad about not having any new music created lately; but Chris Yambar & his friend's band might actually explore "Scapegoat Hawkins Lee" tunes for real! Should be authentic sounding blues - which I may help with in some fashion.

Congrats to Rich & Linda Gagnier's marriage!

The "Frontal Lobe & Dumplings" show is moving along...I recently wrote a partial song called "Run, Bucky, Run" - based on that escaped prisoner "Bucky Phillips". I also have an idea for a Halloween novelty tune called "Frankenstein's Wagon". I will be guesting on Whole Lotta Shakin' - October 29th with Mike Murray.

Please refer to my My Space page for all 2007 & 2008 happenings!!
